I have just finished a funny romantic book when I decided to finally pick this up. This book has been sitting on my e-library for quite some time now, and I was looking for something to satiate my hunger for romantic books so I felt like reading I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios after putting it off for so long.
It has been a while since I’ve read something so REAL and so RAW I had my heart hanging by a thread every time I felt emotional. It wasn’t the heaviest book I’ve read, but it has its own way of storming you with a ton of feelings. I laughed, I felt love, I even got mad as hell. This book was capable of bringing out emotions you didn’t thought was possible in one sitting. Yes, I read this in a day, despite work, and K-dramas, and life.
The story, the characters, even how the events unfold was just so honest. It didn’t matter that I had no first-hand experience on what they are experiencing because the author made it possible to relate with the story with her writing.
I’ll Meet You There was not a ball of fluff; rather it was a rock of reality.
I wouldn’t describe the ending as happily-ever-after because like I said earlier it was close enough to what would have happen if this story was real rather than a fairy tale. It ended on a happy note, but I think the best word to describe it was satisfying. I can’t think of a better ending than what the author have written. I regret putting off reading this book for so long.
It doesn’t matter if you love contemporary romance or not, you have to read this. The story may sound simple but I swear it has so much more under its sleeve, you won’t regret picking this up.
